Shah Rukh Khan to play Dhyan Chand in a biopic

New Delhi: If media reports are to be believed then Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is all set to play Dhyan Chand's role in a forthcoming biopic based on the hockey legend's life. Dhyan Chand was the hockey captain of team India and was phenomenal in achieving several Olympic gold medals for the country. However, any confirmation from the actor’s side has not been given yet.
Shah Rukh Khan had played the role of a gritty hockey coach Kabir Khan in 'Chak De India'. The film was a commercial as well as a critical success.
Khan is not new to the game of hockey as he was the captain of the hockey team in his Delhi school St Columbus. Interestingly, he also captained the school football team.

Biopics such as 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Paan Singh Tomar' have done well at the box office recently and that has prompted several other storytellers to come up with biopics on lesser known but extraordinary characters. Farhan Akhtar's 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is the next biopic to be released.
