Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible Indian Nationals for filling up of various jobs in different Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Zonal Railways  and other Railway organisation. Application should be sent directly to the respective RRBs / Zonal Ofifces :
1. Sr. Section Engineers : 1403 posts of P-way, Works, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and S&T Departments
2. Junior Engineer : 4784 posts of  P-way, Works, Civil, Carriage & Wagon (Design), Signal, Telecommunication,IT, Mechanical, Electrical and S&T Departments
3. Senior P-Way Supervisor : 160 posts
4. Chief Depot Material Superintendent : 37 posts
5. Depot Material Superintendent  : 65 posts
6. Junior Research Engineer : New posts are added
7. Senior Research Engineer : New posts added
Age : 18-33 years. Relaxation in age as per rules.

Application Fee : Rs.60/- for the OBC candidates only in the form of IPO / DD in favour of Assistant Secretary/Secretary/ Member Secretary/ Chairman of  concerned RRB where candidate wants to apply. No examination fees for SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Physically Handicapped / Women / Minorities / Economically backward classes candidates having annual family income less than Rs. 50000/-.
How to Apply : Application in the prescribed format should be send to the Assistant Secretary/ Member Secretary of the concerned RRB where candidate want to apply o. Candidates can also apply online at respective RRB websites. The envelope containing the application should be clearly super-scribed “Application for the Post/s of ___________Category N
General Instructions:
1.Before applying for any post, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite Educational
2. The candidates who have been debarred for life from all RRB examinations or the candidates who have been debarred for a specified period which is not yet completed,
3. The candidates are required to sign in English or in Hindi in the prescribed places provided in Application Form and in Information Sheet. The signatures on Application Form,
4. the candidate will be writing a single examination for all the categories within such combined category as per his/her choice of priority. A single roll number will be allotted to such candidates in combined category covering all
5.  Serving Defence Personnel likely to be released within one year of the closing date (i.e. 09-04-2013) can also apply against Ex-Servicemen vacancies.
6. Dates of all examinations and results are published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and also indicated in local dailies.

12. Upper age limit in case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from the husband but not remarried shall be relaxed up to 35 years for Unreserved,
13. The examination fees are non-refundable. It should be paid in the form of a crossed Demand Draft valid for a period of Six months to be drawn at the main branch

15.  Economically backward classes mean the candidates whose annual family income is less than Rs. 50000/-. They have to submit income certificate at the time of applying
16. The candidate’s Name, Address with Pin Code, Date of Birth, Father’s Name and nearest Railway Station should be written legibly in English in bold capital letters, even if the candidate
17. In item No.9 of application form, the candidates should indicate any clear visible mark of identification on their body like a mole on the nose, cut-mark on the forehead
18. Applications, which are illegible, incomplete, unsigned, signed in capital letters, not in prescribed format. Without colour photo of candidate, not having IPO/DD or having IPO
19. One copy of identical passport size colour photograph firmly stitched to the application (apart from one copy pasted on the form). Self-Attested copy of Matriculation
20.  Self attested Photostat copy of requisite certificates in case of candidates claiming any other type of age relaxation. Self – declaration

About the organization:
First time in July 1942, as an experimental measure, a Service Commission with a Chairman and two members was established for recruitment of Subordinate Staff on the then North West Railway. The position was reviewed in 1945 and Services Commissions at Bombay, Calcutta, Madras and Lucknow were set up under Railway Board. These Commissions were introduced with two fold functions of recruiting class III staff and also tender advice to General Managers for dealing with appeals from subordinate staff on disciplinary matters. In 1948, the Indian Railway Enquiry Committee reviewed working of commissions. While recommend-ing their permanency, suggested that the work related to appeals should be withdrawn so that commission can give undivided attention to recruitments. Chairman, Bombay Service Commission was given the supervisory role to Supervise Commissions at Calcutta, Lucknow and Madras. In 1949, due to financial constraints, a ban was imposed on recruitments on Indian Railways. Thus number of commissions was reduced to one and centrally located viz., at Bombay. In 1953-54, when Economic conditions of Indian Railways improved, four service commissions were again set up viz., at Bombay,
