IPL 5: Ganguly fined for slow over-rate

IPL 5: Ganguly fined for slow over-rate
Cuttack: Pune Warriors India captain Sourav Ganguly has been fined after the team maintained a slow over-rate in their Indian Premier League season five match against Deccan Chargers in Cuttack on Tuesday According to the IPL, Pune were found to be one and a half overs behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration.

"Since it was his first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Ganguly was fined USD 20,000," an IPL media release stated.
Pune lost the match as they could not chased down 187. The visitors would have entertained some hopes while Michael Clarke and Ganguly were at the crease, with Deccan’s sloppy fielding also helping their cause, but they eventually fell short by 13 runs to stay third from bottom in the points table after their third successive defeat.
